Delivery Policy
General Information
All orders are subject to product availability, from time-to-time electronic records may not be accurate and a confirmed order or an invoice may have to be altered to reflect actual, physically available inventory. In all cases where payment has been made on the expectation of product availability, that payment will be returned through the same method it was given (cash, credit card, payment on account).
Local Deliveries
Local Island-wide deliveries are accommodated through our fleet of delivery vehicles and delivery personnel. Baby chick sales are delivered on the day the chicks are hatched, as well as on the day immediately after hatch, based on customer preference and chick availability.
Delivery routes and times are planned 24 hours in advance - customers with live chick orders due to be delivered, and who wish to add other products to their delivery order, must notify us 24 hours before the requested delivery date.
Live chick delivery dates will be pre-arranged with one of our sales team during the order confirmation process, either on the phone or through one of our electronic communication channels, to ensure that the delivery day and time are convenient. Please note that local deliveries are primarily available Monday through Friday, in some circumstances we may also deliver on Saturdays, however no deliveries are available on Sundays.
Regional Exports
Our regional customers will receive their baby chicks and other accompanying products via air freight. Due to strict air transport regulations and cross-border documentation requirements, all export deliveries MUST have complete documentation (including full payment) a minimum of 7 days before the delivery takes place.
We will occasionally add hydrating gel to the chick shipment boxes if it is felt that the air freight schedule doesn’t allow the chicks to be shipped in under 36 hours after hatching. This gel sometimes gives the chick a ‘dirty’ appearance but should not be misinterpreted as a defect when the chicks are received.
Delivery Time
Local customers having delivery of their chicks can, if requested, be given an approximate 4 hour window of the delivery time on the day for which delivery was pre-arranged. In the event of unforeseen circumstances in which delivery routes cannot be completed within that window, the customer will be notified and a delivery time will be rescheduled.
Export customers will be given flight dates and flight schedules which are arranged with the carrier. Gale’s Agro Products does not offer any guarantee that the schedule will be followed, including where weather or other acts of God affect the carrier’s ability to complete their previously agreed flights and/or flight times.
Shipping Costs
Local delivery charges are based on invoice value, with free delivery for invoices over a specified total value. Deliveries consisting only of poultry feed will attract a fee regardless of total invoice value.
Export delivery fees (air freight) are calculated based on the destination as well as the quantity of chicks being shipped. Most carriers require a minimum amount of freight to make the flight viable, or they may charge a flat rate for the flight. On receiving your request to quote for an export order, we will give you an estimate of the freight charges for your approval.
Customer Satisfaction
All deliveries, including live chicks, should be checked on arrival by the buyer or their representative. No claim shall be honored for incorrect quantities delivered, after the delivery personnel have left. Any concern or dissatisfaction with the delivered product should be noted to the delivery driver, who will return that product to our warehouse for evaluation. If the product is found to be defective or not what was ordered, it will be replaced or a credit issued towards the invoice.
Any delivered product (other than live chicks) found to be defective when opened or used for the first time, shall be reported to us within 7 days of delivery either by email - [email protected] – or by calling and reporting it to one of our sales team members. Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for more details.
Baby chicks experiencing unusually high mortality (more than the acceptable 2%) during the first 7 days should be reported using our Online Vet Submission Form to allow evaluation of the cause of death, and any potential reimbursement to you. Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for more details.
